Are you up for a food adventure? Would you like to experience a unique high tea setting? Then read on and check out a Cowgirl High Tea.

Last November, I and a couple of family members went on a dining adventure – a Cowgirl High Tea. Our hosts were Sylvia and Dave from Bull Brook Keep Farm in western Wisconsin, about an hour and a half from the Twin Cities.

Bull Brook Keep raises 100% grass-fed and grass-finished beef. You can check out their story on their website. They raise BueLingo beef cattle on their 72-acre farm. The BueLingo is a modern belted beef cattle that was created in North Dakota in the 1970’s. Some of the characteristics of the BueLingo are:

  • Excellent quality and lean marbling
  • Excellent maternal instincts
  • Fertility
  • Docility
  • Rarely calving difficulties, producing vigorous calves

They can be black or red with a white area around their midriff. I will share more about the quality of the meat later (spoiler alert – it is awesome!).

Back to the Cowgirl High Tea. Sylvia hosts regular teas at the farm in her home. Here are some of what is included in this fun event.

  • Service on fine linens, china, silverware, and stemware.
  • Three course meal and each course has a selected tea. The meal is handcrafted with high-quality ingredients.
  • Views of the working farm.
  • Great conversation.

You can check out all the details of future events here.

The November Cowgirl High Tea was in celebration of Sandwich Day. We had a 100% grass-fed burger on a farm-baked brioche. To say the burger was good would be an understatement, it was REALLY good. The beef obviously was from their own herd, and you can definitely taste the freshness. Add the farm-baked brioche and you have the perfect burger.

Another part of the experience was watching Sylvia’s cooking demonstration for homemade scones. She shared a couple of “secrets” to making perfect scones. We then tasted these delectable scones with honeyberry curd which was very tasty.

You can’t have high tea without an assortment of desserts! We had five desserts to sample; and just like the rest of the meal, they did not disappoint. This course was paired with Bull Brook Keeps’ Breakfast blend tea; it was my favorite tea of the day.

Needless to say, we were pleasantly full. To work off some of the food, we took a stroll to see the farm and the herd.

Dave and Sylvia are great at hosting these events; not only do you enjoy a wonderful meal, you experience an authentic “farm to table meal”.

There are a couple of Cowgirl High Teas scheduled – so head on over to the website and reserve a spot. If you would like to reserve a private event, that is an option too. It would be a fun event for three or four couples to attend or a fun girl’s adventure.

Also, if you are interested ordering 100% grass-fed beef, you can reserve your order here. They sell out every year so order soon if interested. I have my order in for the fall.

Does this sound like a fun food adventure? What fun food adventures have you done?

Be Blessed and Be a Blessing,

Heather
