Ways to Enjoy Protein Powder

In a previous post, I shared about the different types of protein powders. Check out the previous post here. For many years I had a smoothie almost every day; it had mostly fruit so I am sure I was getting way too much sugar. I actually had so many smoothies that I have a hard time enjoying them anymore. I still wanted to occasionally incorporate protein powder in my diet so I have found other recipes for protein powder. In this post, I thought I would share a few ways to add protein powder into your diet besides smoothies or shakes.

Protein Yogurt Bowls.

  • 1 cup unsweetened organic yogurt
  • 1 scoop protein powder (I use this brand)
  • ¼ cup organic dried fruit
  • ¼ cup chopped nuts like almonds, walnuts, or pecans

Blend the yogurt and protein powder until smooth. Top with dried fruit and nuts. Enjoy.

This can be a quick breakfast or snack. I will use non-dairy yogurts like coconut or cashew since I am not doing dairy right now.

Gramma Cookies

My grandsons love these cookies. They make a great snack or even light breakfast.

Check out this previous post for a recipe for healthy cookie treats.

Chocolate No-Bake Energy Balls

  • 2 tbsp AIM Cocoa LeafGreens powder
  • 1 scoop protein powder (I use this brand)
  • 1 cup dry oatmeal
  • ¼ cup honey or maple syrup
  • ½ cup nut butter
  • ¼ chopped walnuts
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 2/3 cup raw coconut flakes
  • 1-2 tbsp coconut oil

Combine all ingredients till well blended. Roll into small balls and store in freezer till ready to eat.

Overnight Oats

Overnight oats can be a great way to add protein powder to your diet. Here is a great link for eight different flavors.

These are a few simple ways to add protein powder to your diet. Besides smoothies or shakes, what is your favorite way to enjoy protein powder?
